Godzilla Shouwa Era (1954-1984)

In 1954 following atomic testing, the monster Godzilla put in his first appearance and destroyed Oto Island and Tokyo. This fierce beast was unstoppable and could only be destroyed by the self-sacrifice of a young genius scientist.
Another Godzilla appeared one year later to fight another monster called the Angilas. After destroying Angilas, this Godzilla was buried under snow and ice and later resurfaced to battle King Kong. This Godzilla battled many monsters such as Rodan, Ghidora, Mothra, and others, and became the guardian of the Earth against robots, monsters and hostile aliens. After a particularly violent battle with MechaGodzilla 2, one it almost lost, Godzilla retreated to the ocean, there to remain for the next ten years. It was awakened in 1985 by volcanic eruptions off Daikoku Island and returned, this time as a threat to humanity. It came ashore and was defeated by the Super X. Near death, Godzilla was revived by a radioactive lightning storm caused by an accidentally launched Soviet missile.
Thanks to the ingenuity of a Japanese scientist whose parents were killed by Godzilla 30 years before, Godzilla was plunged into the fiery gut of an erupting volcano on Oshima Island, there to rest and hibernate for the next five years...
