Godzilla, Mothra, and Rodan
had successfully driven Ghidrah from the earth...but it was not long before
Ghidrah was to return.
A small planet was discovered
beyond Jupiter. In an effort to know more about it, the United Nations
sends a rocket with two astronauts, Glenn and Fuji, to investigate. They
find more than they had bargained for; Planet X had intelligent beings!
The controller of Planet X captured the ship as well as Glenn (portrayed
by American actor Nick Adams.) Fuji goes to rescue him, and the two find
that Ghidrah, after being repelled from Earth by Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra,
escaped to Planet X and is now berating it with its lightning bolts.
The aliens ask for permission
to bring Godzilla and Rodan to Planet X to help kill Ghidrah. But, alas,
it is a hoax. The aliens transport Godzilla and Rodan to Planet X where
they get into another fight with Ghidrah. Ghidrah turns tails and runs.
The astronauts return to Earth only to find that the controller of Planet
X wants to take over the Earth.
Glenn discovers that his
girlfriend Namikawa is one of them after he goes to Planet X and finds
a woman he thought was her. The look-alike shrank back from him when he
tried to talk to her. After making this discovery, he was shattered. The
beneficient aliens story was a lie all along. The aliens use Godzilla,
Rodan and Ghidrah to destroy city after city.
The humans find a way to
cut off the magnetic waves controlling the kaiju as well as destroy the
aliens. Free from their dazing influence, Godzilla and Rodan as a team
turn on Ghidrah and begin to fight him. Godzilla and Rodan eventually tackle
Ghidrah and the three of them fall into the ocean; Ghidrah comes out alone.
Deciding he had had enough, Ghidrah flies off toward space...
