Ok,
so this one has two names. Anyway, on with the synopsis... An archaelogist
named Shimizu and his brother, Masaiko, are at an Izumi dance when the
dancer suddenly has a horrible vision: Monsters have come up from the earth
to spread disaster and death everywhere. She falls over in a dead faint.
When she comes to she tells her grandfather what she saw.
A little
shaken, Kosuki Shimizu and Masaiko return home. Shimizu finds a strange
statue in the cave. A woman archaeologist takes a look at both the statue
and the cave paintings and points to a prophecy: " When a black mountain
appears in the sky, a monster shall arise and try to destroy the world;
when the moon is red and the sun rises west, two monsters will appear to
save the people."
As
they are flying in a jetliner to Tokyo, they notice a huge black cumulonimbus
cloud in the shape of Mt. Fuji...the black mountain. Soon afterward, Godzilla
appears at Mt. Fuji and begins to knock down buildings. Angorus appears
but has the hell beaten out of him by Godzilla and has his jaw broken.
Injured, bleeding, and humiliated, Angorus returns to his domain deep within
the earth. Shimizu is driving along and witnesses the battle, and noticed
that Godzilla is wounded, but.....it isn't the dark red flesh that would
normally show, but it glows silver!
Godzilla
goes to Tokyo's business section to trample on it, and is doing his normal
fine job when, out of the woodwork comes...another Godzilla! Masaiko and
Professor Miyajima and his daughter, Reiko, are stunned! The second Godzilla
blasts the first one with his radioactive breath. Before their eyes, sparks
fly from the first Godzilla! Then the first one's flesh burns off of him
altogether, to reveal a metal version of Godzilla underneath. MechaGodzilla
and Godzilla do battle; MechaGodzilla fires his eye beam which Godzilla
counters with his breath weapon. The force of the resulting explosion knocks
Godzilla into the water and causes him so start bleeding; it also causes
MechaGodzilla to malfunction. The space aliens controlling the metal kaiju
bring him back to the base for repairs.
To
save time, the alien commander kidnaps Professor Miyajima, Masaiko and
Reiko as they are looking around in the cave for more space titanium. They
force the Prof to repair the robot monster; and then they try to kill the
three of them. Shimizu and the Interpol agent break into the alien base
and rescue them! Once outside the base,Reiko suddenly points out that the
moon is a startling shade of bright red.
Masaiko,
Miyajima and the Interpol agent go back in to take care of the aliens only
to be captured again. Meanwhile, Shimizu and the woman go to Okinawa with
the statue. When the sun began to rise, it cast a mirror image of itself
in the west! Placed in the proper position, the statue's eyes began to
glow! Suddenly a ray of light shoots out and blasts a mountain open, revealing
King Caesar, protector and guardian of the Izumis! King Caesar and Godzilla
team up to fight MechaGodzilla. At the film's end, MechaGodzilla explodes
into about a million pieces, Godzilla goes back into the ocean, and King
Caesar, content that his work is finished, disappears back into the side
of the mountain...
