Hi! I don't know that much about the Godzilla Tamagochi, having never
played with one, but I have seen 'em in local stores.
I guess they're a keychain attachment type deal that's also a digital display
like the type you find in a quartz calculator. It's a game where the Big
Guy is YOUR PET!!!! (As Mr Spock would say, "Fascinating!")
I guess he can eat, sleep, go to the vet, play, and "go poopie".
If you do it right, he grows up to be a BIG GODZILLA!!! If not, well then
he goes to monster heaven. But fear not! You can always rely on "the
reset button!"
Godzilla Virtual Pet is $19.95. ($12.95 at Kay-Bee Toy Stores!!!!) I have
found Virtual Pets at Babbage's and Electronic
Boutiques... any place that sells video games and computer software.
Can you imagine what it would be like if Godzilla were real and he were
really your problem?? For one thing, it would take DAYS, if not weeks to
shovel all the dino-sh*t that he dropped!!! And feeding that big SOB would
cost a FORTUNE!!!!!
No self-respecting vet would take THAT as a patient!!!!!! Aren't you happy
it's just a hand held thing? Hmmmmmm? ;-)
I picked my Godzilla tamagochi up just yesterday at Kay-Bee Toy Store.
Thanks to Keith Stevens for tipping me off. ^_^
I've been working it (well, I hope!) and I plan on putting a diary of G's
development up here soon, so keep your eyes open.
Oh yeah, while we're on the subj, I've heard reports of people getting
T-Rex Dinos in Godzilla packaging. If you want one of the authentic Godzilla
tamagochi, you have to check the TOY ITSELF. It ought to be black with
a color sticker of Godzilla (like the Trendmasters packaging!!!) on the
interior and it should also have "Godzilla, King of the Monsters"
emblazoned in white on the outside. Just to let you know, if it doesn't
have either one of those things, YOU ARE GETTING RIPPED. Just a friendly
warning.
I also hope to cover the hand held game, if I can get it! (FYI, I'm
trying to update as much as possible before the REAL baby gets born...
then I'm afraid all I'll have time for is a piddly mailing list message
as she sleeps!!! (I say she, because if I say he, Bill gets all huffy!!!))
So, STAY TUNED!
P.S. "Tamagochi" is Japanese for "cute little egg".
I guess as a student of Japanese, I should have figured it out. *^_^*
Diary of a G- Tamagochi
9-28-97 Picked it up at Kay Bee toy store. Opened the package, and knew there was no turning back once I'd pulled the plastic strip out of it and heard beeping noises. "Uh oh...." I thought. Ignorantly pushed any and all buttons I could find until I read the instruction manual a bit more closely. Godzilla weighed some 9 grams, and had hit 10 grams by that evening. (he even took a dump. haha)
9-29-97 Satisfied with my VR pet because it actually sleeps during the night. Good thing. was up to 11 grams (12 after I fed it.) Now 1 year old. Have been keeping the discipline index as high as possible without beating it to death and also the happiness and hunger indices. I think he's happy with his new owner... but after all, it's just an LCD game, right?... hmm, I never before saw an LCD game you had to clean up after in the morning... hahahaha Fed it again, now he's up to 13 grams. What a pig! Fed him yet again, now he's up to *14* grams! A true oinker! KInda reminds me of my sister... (just kidding!!!)
Noon, same day - running around like a two year old. God, what a happy little Godzilla!!! I guess this means I'm doing ok! heheh.
7 pm, same day - 17 GRAMS!!! God, wasn't it only 11 this morning?! I guess this means he's thriving. HA! Keeping his health index as high as possible.
9-30-97 Geez, it's the last day of September!!!! We're moving right along! Well, "baby' is now 18 grams heavy... still keeping track of him! hehe. Now 2 years old. I have a feeling he's gonna get bigger soon.
10-1-97 Sure enough, he got bigger. Now 3 years, 23 grams! Geez luis! I'm glad it's just a hand held thing!!!!!!!!! Otherwise my grocery bill would be A LOT higher and my apartment would look (not to mention smell) even worse than it does now!
10-2-97 4 years old, 29 grams!!! No wonder I'm starting to develop biceps from playing with this thing!
10-4-97 6 years old, 37 gms! got bigger! ;-)
10-8-97 10 years old, 53 grams.. even bigger, I think he reached maturity!!! =D 10-9-97 11 years old.... got SICK tonite! =0 Guess it was cuz I forgot to turn off the light when he took a nap.... the shot was a quick fix tho! ;-)
10-18-97 21 years old, 80 grams. Well, it finally happened. My Virtual Pet is now a member of the geriatric club.
So, there you have it. Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll press the reset button! ;-)
