In the year 199X, a quiet
United Nations meeting is interrupted by a news broadcast coming out of
Tokyo, Japan: People are screaming, running, fleeing for their lives; fleeing
from a gigantic monster. Then the screen flickers, and an alien face appears.
It speaks in Japanese. "Ha ha ha! We've come to take over the planet Earth
and there is nothing you can do to stop us!"
In desperation, the Japanese Self-Defense Forces deploy all their latest weaponry and most advanced technology, all to no avail. The three-headed terror, Ghidrah, is wiping out city after city with his devastating anti-gravity ray!!! Mankind's thoughts center on one last hope: Godzilla! As he lies dormant at the bottom of the Pacific Basin, a reconnaisance sub fires a control device into the interior of Godzilla's skull nestled safely under his reptilian brain. But can this daring plan work? Can Godzilla follow the orders given him by the JSDF? More importantly, perhaps most important of all: Will the Earth survive? |
You may use any attack on this one...once you get the hang of the controls, this is an easy, almost boring monster to defeat! Hyper Fire Breath does the most damage.

Godzilla, Rodan, and MechaGodzilla
Things get a bit trickier in this scenario. MechaGodzilla will come rushing at you and body slam you (yes, this does you damage.) Try to approach him gradually as the fighting spirit falls; an energy refill is most useful in this area of the game. Also, your usual fire breath WILL NOT WORK! Hyper fire breath is the only projectile weapon of Godzilla's that will penetrate MechaG's strong force field; weak fire breath bounces off of the force field and MechaG fires missiles at you. If you want to, you can always kill this one off with body slams and tail jabs. |
The aliens will try to distract
Godzilla by spontaneously attacking him. If you don't fight them, they
have a tendency to follow you around and they can be very annoying. In
order to get UFO's to stop pestering you for good on any round from 2 to
6, find the Mother Ship on that level and pick it off. The little UFO's
aren't capable of doing all that much harm and it takes only one blast
of fire breath to finish them off; the bigger Mother Ships are more of
a pain and it takes two or more blasts of nuclear plasma to bring the arrogant
aliens down to their knees. If you do this, they will be sorry they ever
heard of Godzilla!

They've kidnapped the Professor
in this one! As time goes on, you must find the base he's hiding in. Beware:
the level is full of electrical wires, and Godzilla would get a major shock
trying to cross them. Also, you must be very careful of any base you try
to level in order to rescue the Prof: there is one that has the Professor
and an energy refill; the rest are decoys containing explosives which drain
the Big G's life meter. As soon as you rescue the Professor, Biollante pops
out of Lake Ashino. Trouble abounds! Ugh. You have to fight him. First
knock off those two annoying feelers off, or you won't be able to engage
their owner. Next, be aware that Biollante submerges himself from time
to time, so you must be very careful. The one attack that does not work
is body slam; Biollante will slam you right back, and it does you damage.
When you claim victory, now is the time for you to go grab a soda or whatever. They do an experiment on Godzilla using King Ghidorah cells which gives you more of a life meter. (700 is NOT BAD.)

Battra is back, and boy
is he bad! The only thing that will work on this one is hyper-fire breath.
Any other attack, Battra is swift enough to dodge. The key to winning is
to keep your own fighting spirit high while keeping his low. It looks and
sounds easier than it is....trust me!
In addition: I found this out the hard way, but if you immediately rush to the cocoon after defeating the first Battra (not slicing through the ocean) you can destroy it before it hatches. It is a good idea to find the Mother Ship and kill it before fighting either one, so you won't lose time fighting the little UFO's. |
Mecha King Ghidrah |
They've brought that three-headed thing back to life as a cyber-organic weapon. Ghidrah's middle head, decapitated in battle, has been replaced by a robotic head. The wings are metallic; the torso contains deadly anti-Godzilla weaponry capable of delivering millions upon billions upon bajillions of death-dealing volts...even the tails are wicked looking. You can't just sit around on this one! You have to go intercept this guy before he eats up more than 50% of Tokyo....or else! |

Bagan is a monster created
from ultra-
ancient Chinese legend. Dredged by the alien forces out of the mists of prehistory, and strengthened by the same nasty mixture of Godzilla and King Ghidrah cells that gives birth to SuperGodzilla, Bagan is a formidable foe. His attacks include: Chinese stars, Ghidrah ray, claw slash (this will disembowel Godzilla...or it would, if the video game producers cared to show such an event, which they don't) and tail. Don't even think for one minute that trying to fight Bagan with puny old Godzilla will get you anywhere; even hyper fire breath, powerful as it is, won't even tickle him! At this point in the game, if you've been conscientious enough to grab any one of the three Super Energy Pellets, a SuperX will come and transform Godzilla into SuperGodzilla, with his cape trailing behind him (no wait, I'm thinking of Superman.....) |
"Come and get yours, punk!!!!!! "YO MAMA!!!!
